April 23 was Rent A Senior Day. Younger students "rented" Seniors for five dollars each, bestowing those students with rights to "boss [the seniors] around, forcing them to pick up food and coffee, serve it, carry backpacks and escort students to class, and other ridiculous things. They essentially became slaves for the day," explained Talia Visaggi '13, who along with her friend Mayra DeGouveia '13 rented a posse of three seniors.

Part of the tradition includes "making the senior you rent wear something you know that they would be embarrassed by," furthered Visaggi. "For example, boys were wearing ballet tutus and tiaras and girls were wearing funny halloween costumes. Some students even made their seniors jokingly wear leashes and signs that declared the seniors as property."

Sasha Baken '12, who was rented by Lindsay Root '13, was forced to wear a suit and tie. Root topped off the outlandish outfit with a sombrero and a sign that said "I work for Lindsay Root." Baken explained, "[Liz Felix '12 and I] had to be at Lindsay's house at 7:30 A.M. and drive [her and a friend] to school…We had to get them frozen yogurt and we had to come into some of their classes. Then they had a surprise for us seventh period" which was "a funny photo shoot in our outfits."

For the most part, those who partook in the festivities had fun. Rachael Pflaum '14, who rented Caroline Varlotta '12, noted that Rent A Senior Day is "a fun tradition because the tables are turned. Instead of the seniors being in charge, we got to boss them around."
