I'm really feeling qualms over bringing this up, because this entire month, in a sense, has been a tribute to both Sophie Lancaster's life, and the enduring power of the goth community to find ways to connect and support each other. I've been humbled by the outpouring of energy, time, and--on SL, at least--Lindens that are going to support the Foundation. It's a very worthy cause, that supports educational efforts encouraging diversity and acceptance. We still have a long way to go, but they're helping a great deal.
That having been said, however...This was really in poor taste:
[Moxie] Hunt Hints!
Nightstalker Hunt:
Life is anything that dies when you stomp on it. Even if you're stomping with a house. This hunt object really went SQUISH.
Why?
Because of how Sophie died--essentially being kicked to death by idiots who saw her makeup and her clothes, and decided to unmake her because of them. They kicked her so often, concentrating their blows on her head,
jumping on her when simple kicks no longer satisfied them, that when police officers arrived, they were literally unsure whether Sophie was female or male. They could not identify her at
all from the condition of her skull.
So...yeah, maybe it's me being oversensitive, but...that bothered me. A stop on the World Goth Day hunt using that particular hint.
Life is anything that dies when you stomp on it.
Sophie learned that well.
