Isn't Christmas. Or Halloween. Or my birthday. Or even daylight savings ending.
It's today.
For the next 12 weeks I ditch crazy control freak type a personality me for someone who resembles who I used to be. We sleep when we are tired. Kids are in and out of here like I never had growing up. I keep stocked in Popsicles, capri suns, easy pool food, and wine because you never know when running into someone at the pool turns into a stone soup kind of party. The sheet we hang in the back yard is right next to the projector, flashlights, and big marshmallow sticks.
Yes, we still have oodles of people in and out of our house for Dan- but summer is when we build strength and endurance to get us through the next fall and winter. So we swim. And soak up the sun. And talk to friends. Basically I have a very typical looking (although with more staff) life.
These next 12 weeks, I'm like one of those little lizards you would see in the tropics running across the sidewalk bobbing their little heads up and down trying to soak up as much normalcy as I can to make it through all the doc appointments and infusions and MRIs that we do the rest if the year. Because, unless there is a giant setback, we do absolutely no doctors appointments during the summer.
It is as much for him to have anything that resembles a typical childhood as it is for me. (Kate and Jack too)
I morph from being crazy germ-a-phobe freaking out over every sneeze me
To
