Not all business online are doing fine. Take Yahoo for instance. Slowly it is losing search engine share and probably by next year its name will be changed to "Ouch". That said it is now a fashion for old search engines to lose market share. Google is actually heading towards that same path as more and more people are turning to Bing. But the funny thing is that not much can be gained from it. News about Bing plagiarizing Google's results has already surfaced. None of them, however, is my favorite. I have been using DuckDuckGo and I am happy with it. yet I sometimes have to go to Yahoo which has turned into an entertaining page for me. Do you ever notice the article topics that show up on its homepage? They seem to be always repeated. Some examples include:
Al Qaida terrorist suspect caught on Halloween's night
Obama celebrated his dog's birthday
A deadly virus named "H-1B" has flied to USA
Romney is still not a favorite
100 tips to avoid Cancer
You should have eaten blue berries to keep your brain sharp
How to know what a boyfriend is thinking 24/7
How to write the perfect resume
Degrees that you should have collected while in college
What clothes Kim Kardashian wore last weekend
Which roads Lindsey Lohan took to reach jail
What you just read is pretty exaggerated. But I hope you got the idea. Do people take such Yahoo articles seriously? Perhaps, not always! This is true especially for those that are about terrorists and terrorist attack. Do note that their reports come from other news groups such as Reuters, Associated Press and ABC news. In short, it is up to Yahoo to choose what they want to show on their home page. This is where things are going wrong.
Just yesterday, this one came out "
Norwegian terrorist Trained in Yemen 'Operation': Report". Instead of reading it, I went straight to the comment section situated underneath. That is where the ultimate entertainment is found actually---same people either preaching Christianity or bashing Islam and political parties. A few out of anger even wish to nuke a region of the earth thinking that it is never going to affect their own family ever. But in the midst of all of them, there are those who now have complete idea of what such reports are all about. Below is the highlight of that. Get your popcorn pack out.
I suppose a cat video is more educational than those based on terrorism. The animal is such a mystery. Yahoo, choose your news properly. Otherwise, people will even leave your homepage.
