SAVANNAH, GA: THE MOST HAUNTED CITY IN AMERICA ...

Savannah, GA is the city the American Institute of Parapsychology receives the most reports about, which makes sense if you think about it.  With it's rich history you would expect there to be at least a few spirits lingering around. Here are just a couple of Savannah's haunted locations:

The Mercer House was the home of Jim Williams, a voodoo-practicing antiques dealer and the main character in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." The home is said to be haunted by the man he allegedly killed after a heated argument, though to be fair to Mr. Williams, he was acquitted in three separate trials.

In nearby Bonaventure Cemetery, visitors report hearing laughter and conversations.  There is also said to be a pack of ghost dogs that haunt its grounds.

Several ghost sightings were reported at Fort Pulaski, a Civil War fort, during the filming of the movie "Glory." Reenactors on the set claim to have encountered the ghost of a confederate officer who reprimanded them for failing to salute him.

The Pirate's House restaurant, thought to be one of the inspirations for "Treasure Island," is said to be haunted by a gruff sailor and a pirate named "Captain Flint."

Anna Powers, a scorned lover, is said to be a permanent resident in room 204 of the 17Hundred90 Hotel.

Visit them… if you dare!
