Well, I had a fun night. I’ve been sick for about a week but then I had a new symptom, a lot of pain in my chest area and it hurt to breathe. Being an idiot, I didn’t go to the doctor right away, thinking it couldn’t be a heart attack. Several hours later when nothing had improved and it basically hurt a lot to move my upper torso, my girlfriend drove me to the ER which was the only open medical option at that point. From 11 pm to 3 am I got poked and prodded a bit and it turned out that it was just the virus messing up with my muscle tissue and they gave me an IV full of Motrin to stop the inflammation. I’m feeling tons better, but I’m tired.

Now to tie this into the geek theme of the site, my doctor was a woman with the last name of McCoy. That’s fucking right, I was treated by Dr. McCoy last night. How fucking cool is that?

Movie Stuff

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Well, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer came out and well, I wasn’t in love with it as much as a lot of other people were. I’m the last person to ever complain about CGI, but the big action sequences make me think I’m watching a video game cut scene.

Wonder Woman! Well it looks like for some bizarre reason Warner Brothers now wants to put Wonder Woman and the Flash into the next Superman movie, which was already set to feature Superman vs. Batman. All right… just whatever. Hopefully it will work. The actress that they cast is Gal Gadot, who is most famous for being in the Fast and Furiouser movies and being hot. Reactions online were not surprisingly negative. Many people complained she was too waifish and skinny to play the role. Hey guys, where do you get off judging a woman’s body? Huh!?

Moar X-Men! Director and Auteur Bryan Singer recently announced on Twitter that there’s going to be an X-Men movie in 2016 called X-Men: Apocalypse. That implies that they’d be using the villian Apocalypse, which could be very cool or very bad. I doubt they’d do an Age of Apocalypse story what with the next movie involving time travel. Don’t know how crazy out there they want to go for this next one.

J.J. Abrams Admits Mistake: Recently J.J. Abrams admitted that keeping the fact that Star Trek Into Darkness had Khan in it was a mistake. I wish he would just apologize for the movie being shitty as a whole, but I guess this is the best that we can get.

Child Rapist Pleads Guilty: There’s been a court battle brewing for years over one of the founders of the ultra successful convention Dragon Con. It’s a long and storied history, but basically this piece of garbage rapes kids and then fakes illnesses in order to avoid going to jail. While his plea deal was pretty good (he only gets five years and the rest of that is on house arrest) at least there’s a tiny bit of justice. He also has to pay his victims a ton of cash and he’s no longer associated with Dragon Con at all. The cops seem to really want to bust him again, so if he violates the terms of his parole hopefully he’ll be seeing lots more time in the slammer.

Swedish Chef vs. Gordon Ramsay: This video of the Swedish Chef from the Muppets taking on Gordon Ramsay Iron Chef style pretty much says it all. Who doesn’t love Beeker doing his Beeker thing though? And it was great seeing Sweetums bumbling around with Ramsay.
