Loco show helps celebrate Christmas in style with festive pantomime

Pantomime

As we all know, it’s that time of year: Christmas time. It’s official, the Coca-Cola adverts are out, the advent calendars are in shops and we can no longer deny it. But what’s Christmas without a Christmas pantomime?

Those looking for a nostalgic night where you get to relive your childhood days of screaming out the usual “he’s behind you!” lines, looked no further than LoCo’s Christmas pantomime! The story was a modern take on a classic called ‘The Return of Robin Hood’ written and directed by Chris Newbould. But unfortunately there wasn’t any random animals, much like the Disney movie.

Like all good pantomimes, LoCo’s adaptation featured a range of songs to keep bouncing your feet along to. LoCo’s very own band, who feature some talented people, performed various different songs from numerous decades giving something for everyone. If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift then you were in luck as the classic song ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’ featured. Not only this but also the much more widely known ‘Eye of the Tiger’ appeared and who doesn’t want to hear Bruno Mars’ ‘Lazy Song’ on an electric violin or flute or even, flugelhorn?

Not familiar with everyone but I can tell you now, nobody could be a better Dame than Tom Niles. And have I mentioned Robin Hood? He was played by the fabulous Imogen Fuller, but of course none of this would be created without the dazzling choreography crafted by Olivia Hill. It was a perfect way to start the Christmas break. It was a relaxing, funny, exciting, and exhilarating pantomime which took place from Friday December 13-15. Were you one who joined in with the festivities?
