Since I’ve put breakfast on repeat since Monday, we had a company lunch today that there was no way I was going to photograph, and my workouts have consisted of running, I don’t have much of the norm to share with you today!
90% of the time there are pretty random thoughts roaming around in my brain, so I am thinking it’s a good time to jump on board Amanda’s link up and think out loud today.
Speaking of Amanda, she caught a pretty funny typo in my WIAW post this week. Did anyone else notice that I had waggles for breakfast? I almost left it up but my OCD wouldn’t let me.
1. I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m intolerant/mildly allergic/sensitive to almonds and avocados (the 2 best tasting foods on Earth), but yet I CAN’T quit eating them. I’ll go a few months and then, BOOM, one of them will appear in front of me and in my face it goes. Today we had our Christmas Luncheon at work. It was Mexican themed and delicious… tamales, chili and verde sauces, rice, beans, desserts, Mexican salad, chips, salsa, queso, …GUACAMOLE. I think you can see where this is going. So not worth it. Ughhhh stomach pains go away!

2. Christmas is in 6 (SIX!) days. I’m really bummed about this holiday season for two reasons. 1. it was so darn short. Thanksgiving literally could not have come any later. 2. All of our usual Christmas traditions were cancelled for various reasons, but mostly due to that stupid ice storm we had weekend before last that just wouldn’t melt away. Our town’s Christmas Parade, our friend’s Decorate the Tree Party, our Christmas Party, the Run the Lights 3K, the Light the Tree Festival…I look forward to all of these things every year and it just plain sucks that we didn’t get to do them.
3. After tomorrow Anthony and I are on vacation for ten whole days!! Ok, I have to work on Monday. But other than that, TEN WHOLE DAYS! That has happened only one time since we were 16 and that was for our honeymoon. I’m ecstatic. And you can betcha I’ll be forcing we’ll be squeezing as much holiday fun as possible into the next five days to make up for #2.
4. This article that Iowa Girl Eats posted a while back. I had tears down my face. Oh man it’s hilarious.
5. We watched Home Alone again for the third time this holiday season. I have been saying my favorite holiday movie is Christmas Vacation for years now, but I take it back. On a totally random note, did you know that McCauley Culkin holds the record for acting in the most movies in the shortest period of time? Something like 15 in 3 years. You’re welcome for that useful piece of knowledge.

6. Fantasy Football is OVERRRRR after this weekend. YES. I might get my husband back now. And if you’re thinking, “But, Ashlee, you really liked Fantasy Football a couple of months ago? You even played yourself?”, that would be correct. I played, and I loved it until I started to lose and now Fantasy Football can suck it. ha. Really though.
7. My birthday is in 12 days so I have 12 days to decide where I want the hubs to take me for my birthday dinner. We’ll be in Plano so if any of you locals have a suggestion, please let me know! We need to make reservations asap since restaurants tend to book up early on NYE.
8. Oh, and I also have 12 days to update age on my Welcome/About Me section in the sidebar. I’ll be turning 23 in case your wondering.
9. I’m not too thrilled that my favorite shows have decided to wait two whole weeks before airing new episodes! American Horror Story, Betrayal, Nashville….why are you doing this to me?! The suspense is killing me. On the bright side, more time to watch Christmas movies I suppose.
10. Last night I had a Mexican themed brinner {egg and cheese burrito with salsa and refried beans}. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve had a regular old white tortilla, but we have some leftover ones from cooking for company that need to be eaten asap. Can I just say it was even better than I remember. I guess I’ll keep eating whole wheat blah blah since it’s supposed to be healthier and all that, but white will always have my heart. <3
Thanks for hosting, Amanda!
