New CLOWN Trailer Takes a Bite Out of Your Funny Bone | Strange ...

Once in a rare while we are treated with a horror movie trailer that doesn’t torture us with predictable scares and a generic plot of demonic possession but instead provides us with something rather more intriguing. The Eli Roth-produced ‘Clown’, set to hit theaters in 2014, is looking to be a promising gasp of rotten air in a rather fresh and clean (minus a few like last years the Conjuring) industry of pseudo-horror.

The ambiguous yet creepy as hell trailer appears to tell the story of a father who, upon hearing of a tardy clown appearance at his kid’s birthday, finds a creepy clown suit in the attic of his house which he (of course) puts on and things, as you can imagine, go downhill from here. I don’t want to provide you with any (more) spoilers so you can enjoy the trailer for all its worth but let me tell you, things get good.

Upon viewing this gruesomely creepy tease, the ‘Clown’ trailer, edited with clear focus and attention (paying homage to some classic camera angles and techniques), provides us with just enough material to grasp our attention, lift our horror-arrogant chins and say “hmm, maybe this will actually reach our high expectations. Either way, this is a film I am really looking forward too.
