Ebola? Um, okay. | robinnicole621

So Facebook is currently blowing up with news that this Dallas RN had traveled through Cleveland to visit with family down in Akron, specifically Tallmadge, and stopping at KSU on the way. Crazy. But, what’s even more crazy is the reaction. I don’t want to sound like, flippant, because I do understand that it is dangerous…but. I cannot STAND how people just go insane over stuff like this. I cannot handle medical hysteria. Like going to the ER because you have a fever or a headache. That’s what Urgent Care is for…

I mean, maybe this is to my own detriment, but I don’t think that everything relating to a disease is reason for panic. Yes, she’s got Ebola. Do I really think a plague is going to hit here in Ohio? No.

Ironically, I recently finished reading a book called The Plague Tales, about a mass outbreak of Bubonic Plague in the US (the book was set in I think 2005 or 2007, which was considered the future, which kind of cracks me up).

So, not sure I have a real point except that I don’t think I’m going to come down with the Ebola. Yes, I said the Ebola. Although, also related and kind of funny….during that Ebola scare in maybe like, 1992 or sometime in the early 90s, I was CONVINCED I had it. Turned out I had a nasty case of Impetigo from the kids I babysat for….

So that’s the that.

Tonight is fabulous lady night. I have spin at 5:30 and then am looking forward to relaxing and putting up Halloween decorations. AND…that is about all I’ve got today. My computer is running crazy slow and it’s making it very difficult to write.
