Anna had her 3-year doctor's appointment today. It is so weird how we haven't been since she was 2, and now we're not due again until she's 4. She was not too excited.... She said she thought the doctor was going to hurt her. But we talked about it and she was prepared. The nurse took her blood pressure, which she thought was funny :) She also thought it was funny that Jacob started screaming MaMaaaa when the nurse came in because he thought it was HIS turn (just wait--his is coming next week!) Anna is still a tall girl (38.5 inches, 90%) and she weighs 31.5 lbs (60%). They also measured/calculated her BMI (which I can't remember right now) but I guess we are done with the head measuring--the end of an era :) We got some new tips for handling our "intense" girl and I was reminded of how awesome our pediatrician is. I just luv her! She is so real and has such good input and answers to all of our questions.
A "moment" today for me....Anna & I were watching old videos of her when she was Jacob's age. What a great reminder of how things really were! I swear sometimes my memory is so inaccurate....I have to step back at times and realize that despite how fast my babies are growing and changing....they are only 1 & 3 and it takes a good reminder to adjust my expectations :)
Next week is Mitt's 18-month appointment! It was crazy to hear this, but so true.....the doctor asked if Anna & Jacob play much together. I said, "Anna tries & wants to, but most of the time Jacob is content to do his own thing." She said "Yes, he is still a bit young for that, but next year will be so much fun for ya'll." It is fun now and we see the love between them, but it is neat to picture the two of them playing "together" and being best little buddies :)
