Sit Upo Funny Side Up

To discuss something within your cubicle, is called 'sitting' in our office, as opposed to a meeting.
"We'll sit on it later."
"She sat late in the evening to finish the report."

Since I now have Filipino colleagues, aside from my longtime Filipina companion, Zinnia, we have now translated to the Filipino word – upo.
When one of the new colleague shared that her boss sat with her it sounded funny in the Filipino version.
"Bakit ka OT?"
"Inupuan ako ni Boss."
"Mabigat?" I kiddingly added.
