A topical and not at all out-of-date blog post - Rosie Scribble

by RosieS on November 28, 2012

Before reading any further, please picture the following in your head: mince pies, mistletoe and the biggest Christmas tree you can imagine.

Something like this:

Christmas tree

You might also want to hum a Christmas carol or two. It’s an essential requirement should you decide to read on.

Still picturing Christmas?

Good.

It’s safe to proceed.

Here we go.

Sometimes a review product sits around the house for slightly longer than it should do. You’re aware it’s there. Occasionally it calls out to you. It weighs on your mind but that spare couple of hours you need to try out the product and then write the post just aren’t there.

Thankfully, in normal circumstances, the review eventually gets written. It appears in a blog post and no one has any idea how long you’ve had the product.

All is well. Everyone is happy and you don’t look slightly silly because you’ve written a post that’s totally out of season.

So I find myself in a slight situation here. There’s no easy way of posting this without looking a teeny weeny bit daft.

But I’ve had an idea. Let’s agree to ignore any mention trick or treating or pumpkins on the cover of one of these DVDs. Halloween is so last month.

Halloween DVDs from Warner Brothers

Let’s pretend the references to chilling goings on aren’t actually there. The Tom and Jerry cartoons don’t really include titles like Invasion of the Body Slammers, Which Witch and Monster Con. Keep picturing that mistletoe. It’s Christmassy really.

Oh, I almost forgot.

The review. It’s a short one. Not because I’m posting this is a hurry as posting about Halloween DVDs in December would be even worse, but because I asked IJ to sum up what she thought of the DVDs instead. Honest.

Tom and Jerry Tricks and Treats she loved – all 22 cartoons. You can’t go wrong with them really. She described them as silly, funny and a little bit bonkers. Scooby-Doo Big Top she said was great to watch but a little scary in parts, especially the werewolves.

Worth the wait I’m sure Warner Brothers.
