Gardens by the Bay Outing! | felicianeo.com – A Singapore Lifestyle ...

I finally visited Gardens by the Bay!! (Okay this post is like 1mth late hahaha) It was some funny special outing organised by this association that my mum is in.. So our whole family + relatives decided to join since we could go at a subsidised rate + 8 course lunch provided after that!

T joined us as well! We had to wake up really early in the morning cos the stupid thing was at like 9am?!

Had breakfast at this dim sum place before that!

Love this crispy prawn thing! Suddenly can’t remember the name for it.

We had a chartered bus to bring us from the association office to our destination!

Entry to both the Flower Dome + Cloud Forest!

Machiam like school excursion like that lol.

Went to the Cloud Forest first!!

It was like super cold once we entered cos of the splashing of water from this waterfall.

Love my cousins! We literally grew up together. (:

Anyway, we took like forever to transit from area to area cos we took photos EVERYWHERE. Like tourists like that wth. It would have been fine but we were on a tight schedule that day and had to tour finish the entire place within 2hrs!!

It was rather scary to walk on these meshed area cos it feels so scary like it’ll just collapse below you. But don’t worry, it’s just psychological just because of the holes and you can see how high up you are.

Lovely view of the flowing waterfall!

Lol. Found this scene really funny. At one point the guys just squatted there and observing something on the pond..

No idea what’s so interesting?!

Nvm we girls are more normal.

And see what I meant by go anywhere also can take photos lolol.

Funny looking crystals. I can’t remember what these are.

With my baby brother who looks awkwardly older than me when he’s 5 years younger.

Love you!

Okay, as you can see from the surroundings.. The Cloud Forest is just like the same scenery here and there. And not to mention the pathways are pretty narrow since most of it is along the bridge!! Very hard to take photos too since it’s so crammed up.

Exiting the Cloud Forest!

Roar!!

Headed to the Flower Dome after that!

Our first impression of the Flower Dome was…. “OMG IT SMELLS WEIRD!” There was this funny smell in the air that I suspect came from some weird plant. But after awhile your nose got used to the smell and it didn’t really matter anymore haha. But one thing I really like about the place is that it’s SO spacious!! Felt less claustrophobic as compared to the Cloud Forest!

And the place was filled with many colourful and pretty flowers too, compared to the Cloud Forest where it was just alot of greenery.

1 2 3 4 5! #lameposeswedo

Pretty daisies in the loveliest shade of lilac! Daisies right?? I think they should have like signs to tell you what the flowers are! So many weird flowers but I don’t even know what they are. Or maybe there was a sign but we just didn’t notice.

HAHAHA. Think they were trying to capture my bro and Gary’s jump shot.

So bloody spacious to be able to do this!

I can never do jump shots without looking funny, so nope I probably will never ever master jump shots.

(And I happen to fail my standing broad jump like.. all the time ahaha)

We found this place with pumpkins and stuff! No idea if it’s some Halloween decor or something since we went during Halloween period? (Okay anyway I just googled and saw that some pictures of the Flower Dome is different from the one I saw so perhaps they do change the displays at the center atrium? Or maybe there was this area which I we did not explore)

Then we decided to make good use of the things around us. Here’s us trying to look awkwardly straight to balance the pumpkin. Lol.

Ahhhhh.

Grenade!!

Think we spent the longest around this place cos it’s so colourful and pretty!

Saw a lone strawberry growing out!! So intrigued.

I like this happy shot of us with the lovely background. (: After this, we ran all the way back to our bus cos we were late hahaha.

Overall, I think that the place is worth checking out if you’ve never been there before! It’s sheltered (so you don’t have to worry about the rain) and air-conditioned! And if you just want to save money and visit one area.. Just go to the Flower Dome! Honestly the Cloud Forest was nothing great just alot of rare flowers which I don’t even know the name of them? And not forgetting that it’s so crammed!! The Flower Dome on the other hand is so spacious and much brighter and colourful! Only downside is the funny smell when you first enter, but don’t worry! You’ll get used to it really soon hahaha.

Was my brother’s birthday a few days later so we decided to have an early celebration for him after our lunch! This is like the first year when his birthday period doesn’t coincide with exams cos JC exams is much earlier!

We had to go out and get the cake and sneak it in when he went off somewhere. And guess how we hid the cake?? Hahaha.

Birthday boy must have birthday hat.

Laughing cos we used this magic re-lighting candles and it really won’t blow out! The first candle we tried could be blown out but I think the trick is to ensure that the candle gets lighted long enough for it to work! (Instead of blowing it straight away after you’ve lit it)

Celebration success!
