There was this discussion on Tumblr about how cracktastically unrealistic it was to have fanfiction be mentioned in Tv/Movie fanfics (ie, there's a Sherlock fic where John discoveres that people at the Yard ship him and Sherlock and email fanfics to each other) and everybody was agreeing that it's funny and cute, but SERIOUSLY unrealistic.
While yes, that one may be unrealistic, there was an example about a similar fic in Avengers, where one of them discovers there is a fansite with fiction about them. Let's be realistic, that isn't any different, really, from RPF. I mean, in the MCU, the superheroes are REAL PEOPLE to the people of the world, therefore how is the idea of those people writing RPF about them any different than us writing RPF about actors or musicians? It's kind of frame story-esque but it's not really unrealistic.
(And that is Chelsea's 'random thought of the day')
