The violence hasn’t eased up during this long holiday weekend.
At least 11 people have died, and 64 people were shot throughout Chicago since Wednesday.
A five-year-old boy was among those who were injured, and police charged a suspect overnight.
Darrel E. Chambers, 24, of the 11700 block of South Peoria Street, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Police say Chambers shot 5-year-old Jaden Donald Thursday night in Cooper Park on the south side, along with two other people.
The boy was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.
