For students feeling overwhelmed by the massive workload that is finals week, Student Activities and CAB are attempting to relieve finals week – related stress with De-Stress Fest.
From Dec. 9 to Dec. 13 there are a number of events that, according to Campus Programming Coordinator Elizabeth Rapoport, were designed to be very simple, stress-relieving activities that take no more than 15 minutes for students to take part in.
On Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Burdick pool students were invited to enjoy an ice cream float while also relaxing in the pool. There were games and food for all those who attended to enjoy.
The Free Massages event was cancelled due to weather, but will return during the De-Stress Fest at the end of next semester from May 12 to the 16.
On Dec. 11, students had the chance to grab both breakfast and a late night snack. A make your own yogurt parfait table was set up on the first floor of the Union from 9 a.m. to 11. Students discussed the importance of eating breakfast in the morning before starting their days. From 10 p.m. to midnight in the West Village Dining Hall students could take a study break to enjoy free pancakes.
It’s easy to feel down when stressed out by homework and studying, so today Student Activities staff will be roaming around campus handing out snacks to students in exchange for a laugh.
Rapoport, Courtney Becker and Allison Frey will be asking students to make a funny face or tell a joke to keep spirits up as the week comes to a close. You can also grab some free cookies and milk in the Cook Library tonight from 8 p.m. to 10 if you need a late-night snack.
By Friday, a pick-me-up may be needed. Be sure to check out the Trail Mix Bar on the second floor of the Union from 11 a.m. to 2 and make your own personalized bag of caffeine-free snacks.
