Buying a "Friends of the Zoo" membership has been one of my best moves of yet. Davis and I have had lots of fun adventures at the zoo and he gets so excited to see all of the animals each time we are there. On Friday we stopped for our picnic lunch in the African safari. Much to our delight one of the giraffes decided to wander over to snack on some leaves from the tree right where we were sitting! It was literally about 10 feet from us! Needless to say, Davis was
so excited!!
We also had good luck with the lions who are usually hiding out. They were wandering around, playing, and much closer than usual. We also saw 2 different peacocks with their feathers fully expanded...another first. Plus, D has an unusual affinity for "peatocks".
It's so funny to me that Davis is starting to know the zoo and the animals. When we saw a photo of the leopard Davis asked me what animal it was. When I told him what it was, his response was "he wake up!" which was so sweet and funny because every time we have been there the leopard has been sleeping. (One visit he told him "sweet dreams, have a good nap")
I just hope we can get in some more fun zoo adventures before it gets too hot!
